27TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BOARS HEAD RAISES £2750 BONANZA

and more than 400 Toys
for
Essex Masons helping children with cancer

Right Worship Paul William Tarrant Provincial Grand Master attended the meeting along with several of the Essex executive to witness a fantastic meeting.

With kids being at the forefront of this now well-known annual event it was felt that children in hospital should be the spearhead of our fund raising again this year.

We are pleased to be presenting the MCA Trust with a cheque for £2750 and over 400 toys, which were distributed at a fabulous party for our sick children, plus Basildon, Harlow, Broomfield and Queens Hospitals by the MCA trustees and the Santa Express.

The meeting, being solely for the relief of distressed children with cancer, inspired masons from as far as Cyprus and the Isle of Wight to attend a packed lodge room to witness the initiation of a young brother.

The ceremony was conducted by W Bro Rob Eels who, as expected, gave our new brother a wonderful welcome into freemasonry with a competent and sincere display of the work, ably assisted by many other distinguished brethren.

After a truly magnificent ceremony 140 brethren dined to the sounds of the “Tilbury Brass Band” and sang Christmas Carols with gusto as the evening continued in wonderful discourse and harmony.

These meetings, along with a couple of other special events, have over the years raised well over two hundred and fifty thousand pounds for children in Essex and welcomed more than fifty new masons. Long may it continue!
